Adriana Mihaela Zarzu – Singing in Five Languages, Uniting Countless Hearts

Adriana Mihaela Zarzu, a rising artist in the indie-adult contemporary music scene, passionately showcases her commitment through an impressive portfolio of songs. Originating from Romania, Eastern Europe, she has found a new home in California, USA, where she vividly captures her journey—both physical and spiritual—in her music.

A self-taught classical soprano singer and an alumna of the School of Music in Sacramento, California, Zarzu weaves together threads from pop/rock and classical genres, crafting a unique, boundary-defying sound. Zarzu’s music springs from a profound emotional wellspring, exemplified in songs such as “IL Mia Core Va/My heart will go on,” “Favola Breve,” “Ave Maria,” “Love like this,” “Nella Fantasia,” and “Adagio.”

Versatility is engraved deeply in Zarzu’s ethos. She communicates effectively in two languages, holds semi-fluency in German, and effortlessly sings in five languages. This multilingual talent enables her to resonate with a diverse audience, taking her music beyond geographical and language barriers.

Zarzu’s passion for music sparked at a tender age; she began her artistic voyage acting in school plays and singing solo. She later branched out, performing at local theaters, church communities, and even across the Atlantic in Vienna, Austria. Apart from sharing her talent with the world, Zarzu’s heart beats for humanity, evident in her volunteer work, serving special needs and underprivileged children.

Her hard work has truly paid off; in 2021, she clinched the First Prize in Classical Repertoire at the American Protege International Vocal Competition. But her string of achievements didn’t end there. The following year, in 2022, she was honored with the Recognition Award from iClassical Academy, in partnership with Sound Espressivo.

Furthermore, she’s taken part in culturally significant performances. In 2022, she graced the stage at the Enchant Christmas Sacramento production, lighting up the world’s largest winter wonderland with her voice. She also teamed up with the Sacramento Philharmonic Opera and Chorus for concerts that included the globally celebrated Andrea Bocelli in the 2022-2023 season.

What lies ahead for this rising star? Currently, Zarzu is looking forward to gracing the Sacramento Philharmonic Opera and Chorus’s stage, performing in productions of “Opera! La Boheme” by Giacomo Puccini and “Opera! Die Fledermaus” by J. Strauss Jr.

On a more personal note, Zarzu hopes to inspire her listeners, encouraging them to find joy, faith, and comfort through music, especially during these uncertain times. She dreams of collaborating with notable artists like Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli and hopes to perform alongside Andre Rieu and his orchestra one day.
