Javier Rodríguez Set to Score Bollywood’s Next Big Soundtrack

The world of Indian cinema is abuzz with speculation as acclaimed Spanish composer Javier Rodríguez is said to be in talks to score the soundtrack for an upcoming Bollywood epic. The film, tentatively titled Rajmohan: The Last Warrior, is reportedly being developed by Dharma Productions in collaboration with a major Mumbai-based studio, with a grand 2025 release currently being discussed.

Rodríguez, known for his sweeping orchestral compositions and distinctive fusion of Western and world music, would be making his Indian cinema debut with the project if finalized. The film — described by insiders as a historical action drama set in colonial India — is expected to demand an expansive, emotionally rich score that blends traditional Indian sounds with European classical influences.

According to individuals familiar with the production, director Rohit Sharma has expressed interest in incorporating an international perspective into the film’s musical direction while remaining rooted in Bollywood’s rich sonic traditions.

“Javier’s ability to blend classical Indian ragas with modern symphonies is truly unique,” Sharma is believed to have said during early discussions. “His work in European cinema has already set new standards, and we believe his artistic vision could elevate the film’s emotional depth.”

Rodríguez, too, has spoken in past interviews about his admiration for Indian music, once calling it “a lifelong source of inspiration.” While no official comment has been made regarding this project, those close to the composer suggest he is eager to explore opportunities in Indian cinema.

Recording in Mumbai with Bollywood’s Finest

Industry sources claim Rodríguez visited Mumbai last year to explore potential collaborations and was involved in studio sessions in both Mumbai and Bangalore during January 2024 while performing across India. Unconfirmed reports also point to possible partnerships with tabla maestro Zakir Hussain and renowned playback singer Shreya Ghoshal, as the team aims to create a score that feels both rooted and innovative.

Although no formal announcement has been made by either Rodríguez or the production studio, a press event is rumored to be in the works for next summer in Mumbai. As anticipation continues to build, Rajmohan: The Last Warrior is already being talked about as one of the most exciting potential releases on the horizon for 2026.
