Skyler Lewis doesn’t wait around. The Canton rapper, who goes by LBE Scar, released two EPs in the same week this October. The Chronicles of Scar, Vol. 1 dropped on October 27 and Vol. 2 just four days later on Halloween. If you’re wondering what the rush was, he’s got a simple answer: his kids.
“My daughter Zalaya and my son Junior are the reason I keep going strong,” Lewis says. “I wanted y’all to feel me in these songs, like really feel me, without any visuals even needed.”
The LBE in his name stands for Loyalty Before Everything, and it’s not just marketing talk. Lewis has spent years in the music business working his way up, from promotion manager at Hit Camp Records in 2019 to manager at Loedagang, and eventually starting his own Scar Management. He writes, engineers, and produces his own tracks, and he’s clear about doing things on his own terms. “I knew I could be whatever I wanted to be,” he says on Vol. 1’s “Karma,” a track about betrayal and cutting off disloyal people. “All I had to do was follow my dreams. F*ck a handout and do it on my feet.”

Both EPs clock in around 11-12 minutes each, five tracks apiece. The standout tracks are “Karma” and “Choose You” from Vol. 1 and “Calling Me Bae” and “Switch Up” from Vol. 2. “Choose You” came from a rough place. “I remember writing it vividly on my 29th birthday back in May,” Lewis says. “I had to force myself to finish the song even though I’d just been betrayed by someone I thought was loyal to me. I took that inner pain and turned it into motivation. We can respect the truth, but we can’t respect a liar.” The music blends smooth melodies with dynamic production, and Lewis’s lyrics dig into past trauma, relationships, and the complications of staying loyal in a world that doesn’t always return the favor.
What’s getting Lewis more attention right now is who he’s running with. He’s tight with YBL SINATRA, real name Leon McCane aka Young Bone Luxurii Sinatra, son of Bizzy Bone. The two grew up around the corner from each other in Ohio when Lewis lived in Cleveland. They’re currently working on a collaboration project together and have shows lined up in New York before the big one: opening for all five members of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on November 29 at Cleveland’s Agora Theater. “After my first show, I knew this was my time to get my foot in the door,” Lewis says. “I’m here to stay.”
His tour kicks off in February 2026, with dates dropping on New Year’s Day. His cameraman Dee Dee Vision will be filming upcoming visuals. For now, Lewis is focused on building momentum the same way he’s approached everything else, through consistency, self-reliance, and keeping his circle tight.
